Mitacs GRI 2022 Experience
Mitacs Global Research Internship Program is a competitive program that offers undergraduate students fully funded research internship opportunities in Canadian research institutes. I had the opportunity to collaborate with researchers and graduate students at Dalhousie University's AIES Lab. During my time at the university, I experimented with non-destructive approaches to identify anomalies and nutritional deficiencies in potato plants. I also had the opportunity to visit and work at McCains Farm of the Future (FOF) in Florenceville-Bristol, where researchers and experts from across the world strive to improve and develop agricultural techniques that will revolutionize the potato industry. This 12-week research internship program, supervised by Dr. Ahmad Al-Mallahi, has exposed me to the world of Precision Agriculture.
